Our school is fully accredited by the Ecuadorian Ministry of Education. Our program provides real-life skills and opportunities beyond the acquisition of basic literacy skills. We emphasize the development of critical thinking and academics that relate to their present lives and culture.
We teach language skills to help them maintain their current cultural language, Kichwa (Quechua), but also teach them Spanish and English to prepare them for interaction with the larger community.
Many students entering Saminay El Legado lack the basic skills needed for the secondary curriculum. Our dedicated teachers work with these students to help them catch up.
We give students access to computers and other educational tools such as microscopes and other technology tools to increase their ability to participate in 21st century learning and entrepreneurial opportunities.
