Leadership Team

Edwin Vinueza is the Agricultural Project Manager for Saminay-El Legado.  He has worked  in various places in the northern mountain regions of Ecuador.  He has experience as an extension agent for a foundation, a ranch administrator and a member of a technical staff for a commercial flower production company. He has a degree from Escuela Agrícola Panamericana.

Teaching is not just about sharing information with students, but also sharing happiness, sadness, successes and failures, learning from experiences and helping students to dream and reach their goals.

Edwin Vineza

Pilar Lindo serves as the Educational Director and Principal of Saminay-El Legado.  She has a degree in Education and a masters degree in Neuropsychology.  She has extensive educational experience working with all ages of students.  She has excellent leadership skills and experience in both teaching and creating a positive school environment.

I am profoundly thankful for such an opportunity to change people’s lives based on the inspiration I get daily from my colleagues, the students and the landscape.

Pilar Lindo

Saminay El Legado  is governed by a Board of Directors who oversee its operation and ensure its financial well-being.

Patricia Vinegra was born and educated in Guayaquil, Ecuador. She served an LDS mission in Texas. She worked in retail in New York City where she met her husband. Patricia currently lives in Salt Lake City and acts as a country and language liaison for the COTAH Board of Directors.

Elaine Clyde has spent her career working with underserved populations to ensure equal access to education and job training.   She worked first as a secondary special education teacher and then as a special education curriculum specialist in Granite School District in Salt Lake City, Utah.  She received both a bachelor and masters degree of education from the University of Utah.  She currently serves as secretary on the COTAH Board of Directors.

Martha Cooper was an elementary school teacher for Granite School District for 17 years. She received her bachelor degree and MSW from the University of Utah and she received her teaching certificate from Westminster College. She currently serves as president on the COTAH Board of Directors.
